It is vitally important for future entrepreneurs to ask themselves questions. Questions allow them to sort out issues and explore alternatives. It helps them get at what is best for the business. It also helps them to see what should stay the same and what should be changed. Questions like Why?, Why not? and What if? are very important.
Why?
This is an important question to ask yourself when setting up a business. Why do I want to do this? Why this particular type of business?
Why not?
You need to think about the reasons behind why you might not want to follow a particular business idea? Why not set up a discount airlines company? Because you have no experience in this area. Think about where your skills and passion lie.
What?
Think about what may be asked of you. What problems will you face? What will your customers expect from your business? What do you find interesting and what are you good at?
How?
Think about how you will make this business work. How will you develop the business? How will you get it up and running?
Where?
Think about where you will find materials and staff and where you will sell our product or service. Where will you get advice and support?
When?
How quickly can you get this business started? When do you expect to begin trading? When will you order your stock? When will you look to grow? Think about the time-scales attached to you r business.
What if?
Think about the repercussions if things went wrong or if you began to struggle? What if nobody buys your product? What if you have no income or what if there are several competitors? Every time you make a decision, think about the what ifs associated with it.
Once you have answered all of the questions, it will help you in making your decision as to whether to go ahead with the idea or not.
